Who is this course for?

This course is intended for learners who already have a solid foundation and wish to develop their skills at the lower-intermediate level. The classes focus on expanding thematic vocabulary, consolidating and extending more advanced grammatical structures, and improving fluency and accuracy in both spoken and written language. Participants will learn to effectively express their thoughts on a variety of topics – from everyday matters to those related to work, hobbies, and culture. The course also includes developing the ability to understand longer texts and to engage in more complex conversations and discussions. The materials and learning pace are tailored to gradually increase independence and confidence in communication.

What will you learn?

This course is aimed at learners who have already mastered the basics of pronunciation, intonation, and fundamental grammatical structures and who wish to raise their skills to the lower-intermediate level. During the classes, you will refine your pronunciation and naturalness of speech, expand your vocabulary to include more specialized and abstract topics, and consolidate and extend your knowledge of complex grammatical structures. The course will enable you to confidently understand and produce longer, more complex spoken and written statements. You will learn to conduct extended conversations, participate in discussions, and communicate effectively in a variety of personal and professional situations. The materials and learning pace are designed to gradually develop your linguistic independence and confidence in communication.

Stages of learning

This Norwegian B1.1 course is for you if you already have a solid foundation, have mastered communication at the intermediate level, and want to further develop your fluency and precision of expression. You will learn more advanced phrases and language structures, expand your thematic vocabulary, and refine your ability to hold extended, natural conversations. You will practice practical situations that will enable you to communicate effectively in Norwegian in various everyday, formal, and professional contexts.

  • Developing fluency and precision in both spoken and written expression on a variety of everyday, social, and professional topics
  • Expanding vocabulary in areas such as work, education, environment, health, travel, and interpersonal relationships
  • Practicing more complex grammatical structures: modal verbs, conditional mood, subordinate clauses
  • Engaging in extended conversations and discussions, expressing opinions, making comparisons, and presenting arguments
  • Understanding longer and more complex written and spoken texts (e.g., articles, broadcasts, formal conversations)
  • Writing a variety of texts: emails, cover letters, descriptions, reports, opinion pieces
  • Perfecting pronunciation and accent through practical exercises and error correction
